Nominees for Canada’s Walk of Fame

That time of year is approaching when Canada honours those among us who have excelled in music, sport, film, television, the literary, visual and performing arts, science, and innovation. The public are encouraged to submit their nominees.

My vote is for Wendy Crewson. I have nominated her for a few years now. Wendy Crewson has had an outstanding acting career both here and abroad for decades. She is a great actress, has portrayed several notable Canadians (including Sue Rodriguez), is a Gemini award winner, and lives in Canada. Wendy Crewson actively supports and promotes Canadian arts and the ALS society and deserves to be honoured. You can learn more about Wendy Crewson here.

I think it is a disgrace that she has not already received her star on the Walk of Fame. She has had a long and successful career, much longer than many who have already been nominated and inducted. What are we waiting for?

Come on Canada – it is about time that Wendy Crewson was recognized for her great body of work and distinguished career! Nominate Wendy Crewson for Canada’s Walk of Fame!

The Mass Drugging of Society

Such tragic news this week with the passing of Wade Belak.

The moment I heard that he had committed suicide I knew he was taking psychiatric drugs.    And sure enough the Toronto Maple Leafs’ Sports Psychologist had been “treating” Wade for years.  If you have any doubts about the evils and insanity of psychiatric drugs think about this:  Wade Belak was taking “anti-depressants”.   If they worked, why would someone who was taking them – HANG THEMSELVES?!

Canada’s Weekend at Cooperstown

Today was a big day for Toronto Blue Jay fans.  Both Pat Gillick and Robbie Alomar were inducted into Cooperstown.

Gillick and Alomar played major roles in the Blue Jays success in the early 1990s – specifically when they Jays won the World Series in 1992 and 1993.   Not only that, but Gillick made a blockbuster trade to bring Alomar to the Jays.

Toronto loved Pat Gillick, Paul Beeston and Cito Gaston.   We loved to watch Alomar perform.   He was a true talent.   Alomar was a key player in the Oakland Series; always seemed to come through in the clutch.   What memories!

This was Canada’s weekend at the home of the Hall of Fame.
